Sandy Carter

Sandy was born in Chicago, then moved to Hillside, IL until she graduated high school. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Math and Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and two years later married Garry Carter. She worked as a systems analyst before becoming a stay-at-home mother of four children. Twenty years later she returned to full-time work and retired in 2015 from her job as a product manager at a software company. Today she enjoys freelance writing, connecting with extended family, friends, and fellow believers through ministry at The Orchard. She committed her life fully to the Lord Jesus Christ in her freshman year at U of I, after hearing an evangelist share a clear presentation of the Gospel.

Sandy and Garry moved to Barrington, IL in October 2015 and began attending The Orchard. They became members of the Barrington congregation in 2016 and enjoy serving on the Welcome Team and leading a couples' LIFE Group. Sandy also leads a Women’s LIFE Group and is a LIFE Group coach. She serves on the prayer team for Open the Bible and has written articles for their website.
