John is an Arlington Heights native. After graduation from the University of Kansas and attending Gordon-Conwell, John returned to Arlington Heights and started attending The Orchard in 1987. John has worked in Human Resources for most of his career having run an HR Consulting firm for 19 years and now leads HR for a technology software company. John likes to travel extensively, work in the yard and “tinker” on house projects. John put his trust in Christ during his senior year in high school when he understood the provision Jesus provided for his sinful life and the immeasurable grace God provides to His children. John met his wife, Jan, while at KU and they were married at The Orchard in 1989. They have three adult children, David (Hailey), Ben (Peighton) and Emily. In his 30 + years as a member at The Orchard, John has previously served on the Church Board, led, and participated in LIFE Groups. Their family has been extensively involved with missions, with a focus on India, since 2007. When requested, John supports HR needs at church and is in a Men’s LIFE Group. John and his family are part of The Orchard Arlington Heights.
