What is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is a faith-based program designed to help individuals break free from life's challenges, whether they involve addictions, emotional struggles, or unhealthy patterns. Unlike other recovery programs, Celebrate Recovery is rooted in Christian principles, offering a unique blend of biblical truth and the proven effectiveness of the 12-step model. This program provides a supportive and judgment-free environment where participants can explore their struggles and begin the journey toward healing and restoration.

Who Can Benefit from Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is for anyone seeking freedom from life’s challenges, whether you’re facing addictions like drug or alcohol dependence, opiate misuse, or gambling. It also supports those dealing with issues like codependency, anxiety, depression, or other emotional struggles. Open to individuals from all walks of life, this program offers a supportive community where you can find hope, healing, and a deeper connection with others and with God.

How to Join a Group

Joining a Celebrate Recovery group at The Orchard is simple—there’s no need to sign up in advance. Just show up at one of our meetings, and you’ll be warmly welcomed into the community. Our meetings are open to anyone who wants to attend, whether you’re new to the program or have been part of it for a while. You can expect a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can share your experiences or simply listen and learn. We encourage you to come as you are and find the support you need to begin your recovery journey.

How Celebrate Recovery Works

Celebrate Recovery operates through a structured approach that combines proven recovery techniques with Christian principles to help individuals find healing and freedom. Here’s how the program works:

The 12-Step Program

The foundation of Celebrate Recovery is its 12-step program, which is similar to that of traditional recovery programs but is rooted in biblical teachings. Each step is designed to help participants acknowledge their struggles, seek God’s guidance, and take actionable steps toward recovery. The 12 steps guide individuals through a process of self-reflection, repentance, and restoration, helping them to overcome their hurts, habits, and hang-ups with the support of a faith-based community.

The Eight Recovery Principles

In addition to the 12 steps, Celebrate Recovery incorporates eight recovery principles based on the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount. These principles provide a framework for living out the teachings of Jesus in the context of recovery. Each principle encourages participants to rely on God’s power rather than their own, to accept responsibility for their actions, and to forgive others. The eight principles serve as a spiritual guide to help participants experience true transformation and freedom in their lives.

Group Meetings & Support

Group meetings are a core component of Celebrate Recovery, offering a safe and confidential space for individuals to share their struggles and victories with others who are on similar journeys. These meetings typically include worship, teaching, and small group discussions where participants can receive encouragement, accountability, and prayer. The community aspect of Celebrate Recovery is vital, as it allows participants to build strong, supportive relationships with others who understand their challenges. This network of support is essential for maintaining long-term recovery and spiritual growth.

What to Expect at Your First Meeting

Attending your first Celebrate Recovery meeting at The Orchard can be a transformative experience, and we want you to feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you arrive. Here’s what you can expect:

The meeting typically begins with a time of worship, allowing everyone to center their hearts and minds on God. This is followed by a short teaching or testimony, which provides inspiration and encouragement. After this, participants break into small groups, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your thoughts and experiences in a safe, confidential environment. Whether you choose to speak or simply listen, you’ll find that these groups are a source of strength and support.

As you leave your first meeting, you’ll take with you not just a sense of hope, but also practical tools and action items to help you continue your journey throughout the week. Celebrate Recovery at The Orchard is designed to empower you, providing the support and resources you need to apply what you’ve learned in your daily life. You’ll leave feeling encouraged and equipped, knowing that the progress you make between meetings is just as important as the time spent together.

The group will help you set goals and develop a mindset focused on healing and growth, so that you can actively work toward positive change even when you’re not in the meeting. And when you return, you’ll find even more support, new insights, and deeper connections that build on the foundation you’ve started. Remember, you’re not alone—The Orchard’s Celebrate Recovery community is here to walk with you every step of the way, providing the encouragement and tools you need to make lasting changes in your life.

If you’re feeling nervous about attending for the first time, know that it’s completely normal. Many people feel unsure at first, but by the end of the meeting, they find that Celebrate Recovery at The Orchard is a place of healing and hope. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with, and you can take things at your own pace.
