April grew up on the Northwest side of Chicago and her family was very active in their local church. She attended a private Lutheran high school, and DePaul University for accounting but graduated with a journalism degree from Northern Illinois University. April spent fifteen years working in the commercial real estate industry in the Midwest before marrying and starting a family.
April and her husband, Craig, have been married over 20 years and raised four children. The Matter family began attending The Orchard Barrington in 2018 and came to Vernon Hills with the launch. At The Orchard, April assists with Women’s Ministry events, participates in the Women’s discipleship programs, and coordinates the offering and hospitality teams.
To glorify God by growing in faith, hope, and love, through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
